In December 2011 the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on wholesale energy market integrity and transparency - REMIT – entered into force. Its aim is to prohibit market manipulation and trading on inside information in wholesale energy markets. REMIT shell establish more transparency within the gas and electricity markets and strengthen the faith into a fair and competitive wholesale energy trading. The market participants are obliged to disclose inside information and their transactions.
The commission implementing regulation (EU) No 1348/2014 which entered into force on 17 December 2014 shall concretise the obligations for the registration and data disclosing.
Reporting obligations of the storage system operators
Storage system operators are also concerned by REMIT and are obliged to disclose the so called Fundamental Data (technical, booked and available capacities, and also storage levels and daily storage data) and Insider Information (unavailability due to planned and unplanned maintenance).

REMIT reporting service for EWE storage customers REMIT obliges market participants to report their daily storage level(s) to ACER. The market participants can also authorize the Storage System Operators (SSO) to report the storage levels on their behalf.
